“I advise making this your morning routine. If you see a number three or higher, it’s an official signal: your skin needs sun protection,” says Olena Tkachenko, a cosmetologist at BACKSTAGE.

- The golden ratio. Apply the cream in thick dots across your entire face and décolleté area. If, after blending, you feel your skin has simply become hydrated rather than “dressed” in protection, add more.
